CNRS News, the international website of the CNRS, publishes an article on "Bourbaki and the Foundations of Modern Mathematics": a group of French mathematicians who endeavored to publish a structured presentation of the discipline in the form of a monumental treatise.
The film entitled "Marrying maths and art" ("Les noces de l'art et des mathématiques"), produced by CNRS Images, deals with the artistic installation of the French mathematician Pierre Berger, based on the geometrisation theorem of Thurston-Perelman (2002). The idea is to enable the public to experience views and sounds in 3-manifolds.
The André Parent Prize honours a research work led by a group of young mathematicians of secondary and high school. The research may or may not be supervised. It should handle a scientific subject in which mathematics play an important role. The selection committee takes into account the relevancy of the subject chosen, the mathematical skills of the candidates, as well as the capacity to present their subject to a general public audience.
The next European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO) will take place in Firenze (Italy) on April 9th-15th, 2018.
The European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad is an international mathematics competition similar in style to the International Mathematical Olympiad, with two papers taken on consecutive days. Participating countries send teams consisting of four female mathematicians of school age. EGMO was first held in 2012.
On May, Wenesday 10th, an important part of the archives of Alexander Grothendieck will be put on line after an important work of digitization performed by Montpellier University. The documents which will be made available consist in unedited manuscripts representing most of Grothendieck's work between 1949 and 1991, mostly about algebraic geometry. After inventory and conservation measures, the digitization began in 2016 and 18 000 pages will be freely available on line.

On May 27th to May 30th 2017, the CIJM (Comité International des Jeux Mathématiques - International Comittee for Mathematical Games) organises the 18th edition of its annual Fair "Salon Culture et jeux mathématiques" (Fair for Mathematical Culture and Games).
